Everyone who has stuck up for Glee (discounting those who resort to the "I heart Glee" with a million exclamation marks hysteria that seems to inexplicably reduce the critical faculties of people who I otherwise quite like) has given these rather apologetic reasons to watch it, often including the proviso that it's great after a glass or two of wine.
I've no doubt that's true, but when there's other, genuinely good drama to watch, a finite number of hours in the day and the programme in question offers less satisfaction than I get from pairing up my socks, I think I'll give it a miss. I was one of the not-IT kids and I got a lot more encouragement from the likes of Doctor Who (though of course, that was in the 80s when the Doctor was also one of the not-IT kids...)
Thanks, but...
